In a small town like Vegas, especially after COVID, it’s a bonafide rarity for a restaurant to have decent hours serving hot delicious food on a Sunday afternoon. That’s what got my attention, I was Googling looking for something not fast food on a Sunday and found this place. I’ve had the stuffed sopapilla and the frito pie with extra onions. The red chile on both of them was nicely seasoned and cooked. The only feedback I have is for the stuffed sopapilla, it wasn’t fluffy as described on the menu and reminded me of a Navajo taco. Fortunately, it was a nice flavorful concoction. The customer service is also worth giving a shoutout. The ladies were polite over the phone and when I picked up my order. Consistent customer service is also another rare gem and it goes perfectly with their food, that reminds me of grandmas Sunday cooking.
My wife and I ate here on Saturday morning. It was perfect. The chef/owner took very good care of us. I enjoyed the breakfast bowl with red chile and my wife had a smothered burrito. I really liked the fried tortilla bowl. The restaurant was clean, and they made us feel like we were eating as guests in their home. We will definitely eat there again when we are in the area.
Really enjoyed the taco plate. I wish they had a taco combo plate but.. I get it. Everybody was friendly and service was fantastic. It's awesome to have another great restaurant to visit in Las Vegas. Please support our local restaurants before the all disappear.
So glad we stopped in to try this new place in Las Vegas. My sister and I came from Denver where there are very few decent New Mexican restaurants and she was wanting a taste of home cooking before heading back to North Carolina. We both had the breakfast bowl with fresh pintos, papitas, eggs, cheese, chile, and bacon. We had ours smothered Christmas (translation: red and green chile). Both chiles were so amazingly tasty but the red far outshined the green! The owners were friendly and the atmosphere relaxed. It’s situated across the street from a small park in the plaza so you can eat in or enjoy your meal while on a park bench. Plenty of parking is available. They are currently only taking cash as payment so make sure you’re prepared but the prices are very reasonable. If you’re looking for an authentic, home cooked New Mexican meal, then put this place on your list.
When everyplace was busy on Labor day weekend we walked right in. Not a huge menu but decent. Family run. Closed on Wednesday and Thursday. Attentive staff with good food AND very reasonable price wise. Seating for only about 12 tho.
